Mangroves For The Future – Contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals

Mangroves for the Future (MFF) is a partnership-based regional initiative which promotes investment in coastal ecosystem conservation for sustainable development. Co-chaired by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and UNDP, the programme focuses on the role that healthy, well-managed coastal ecosystems play in building the resilience of ecosystem-dependent coastal communities in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Viet Nam.

Sustainable Destinations Top 100 badge 2016

PATA is supporting the 2016 Sustainable Destinations Top 100, and we call upon all of you to nominate your destination for this competition. Towns, islands, and protected areas are eligible, and even regions up to 40,000 km².

Applying for the Top 100 can expand your exposure and recognition as a sustainable destination. Through the Top 100 Media partners, selected destinations can receive a lot of media publicity.

You can use the Nomination Form in the Top 100 webpage. Nominations submitted by 1 July 2016 will be evaluated during July by international experts in tourism sustainability and a Selection Panel. In this case you can get feedback and submit your improved nomination by the final deadline of 1 August 2016.

The results of the competition will be announced at a Gala Dinner at World Tourism Day, as part of the Global Green Destinations Day event, 27-28 September 2016 in Ljubljana (Slovenia). By bringing together destinations and solution providers, this will be the main event on sustainable destination management this year.

We wish you success with your nomination!
